Three teams qualified for Cavite-Laguna expressway PPP project in the Philippines NAIA Expressway

Philippines' Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) qualified three teams for the 47-kilometer Cavite-Laguna Expressway public private partnership deal on Monday.

The three groups qualified for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Project are:

DPWH was requesting clarifications from the fourth bidder, Alloy MTD, Malaysia's second-largest toll-road operator. According to local sources, clarifications involved a certification of completion for projects in Malaysia and added documents on the experience of their designer. DPWH has given the firm three days to respond.

MTD Philippines president Isaac David said hat they were ready to provide the DPWH with the required documents.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on November 19, 2013. The submission of bids is tentatively set for January 2014.

For the CALAX project, the private partner shall finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the 47 kilometers close-system toll expressway starting from the existing Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and ending at South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Mamplasan Interchange in Binan, Laguna.  This covers the 28.9 km Cavite Section from Kawit to Silang, Cavite and the 18.1 km Laguna Section from Silang, Cavite to SLEX.

CALAX is one of the DPWH pipelined projects earmarked for development under this administration, together with other highly important PPP projects.
