Three companies have submitted technical and economic proposals to Chile's public works ministry MOP for the concession of two hospitals in central region V, the Biprovincial Quillota - Petorca hospital and the Provincial Marga Marga hospital.

The project is scheduled to be awarded on March 7, 2014 .
The concession project of the "Red V Region" includes an investment of UF5.8 million (US$242 million).
The project involves the construction, maintenance and operation of non-medical support services for the existing Quillota-Petorca and Marga Marga Hospitals. The concession envisages the provision, replacement and maintenance of medical equipment.
The Hospital Quillota - Petorca will provide 264 new beds to the network of Health Service and Quillota Viña del Mar. It will serve 290 thousand people from 8 municipalities surrounding the northern sector of the region, which have a high percentage of rurality.
This new hospital will have 51,500 m², 9 pavilions , 71 query box , 37 procedures box, 3 rooms to give birth and 21 emergency box.
The Marga Marga Provincial Hospital , located in Villa Alemana, will serve 400 thousand people. This hospital will have 51,000 m², 264 new beds, 9 pavilions, 69 query box, 37 procedures box, 3 rooms to give birth and 21 emergency box.
The hospitals will begin their operation gradually, in order to cope with the projected growth of demand more efficiently.
