Three candidates submit binding offers for Peloponnese waste project

Binding offers were submitted on Thursday, July 11th, 2013, for the selection of a private partner for the project "Implementation of an Integrated Waste Management System in the region of Peloponnese via a PPP". Contracting Authority of this project is the Region of Peloponnese.

The three candidates that submitted binding offers are the following:

  1. AKTOR CONCESSIONS - HELEKTOR
  2. TERNA ENERGY
  3. MESOGEIOS - J&P AVAX

The private partner will undertake the design, financing, construction, maintenance and operation of the facilities for the integrated waste management system in the region of Peloponnese for 28 years.

The waste management project of the Peloponnese Region is the first PPP project in Greece announced with the competitive dialogue procedure, and the first waste management project that combines private resources and EU funds, via a PPP. This project is a model for the next 10 PPP projects processing in the same field.

The total annual amount of waste to be managed has been estimated at 200.000 tons.
