
A senior finance ministry official told
Business Standard the PPP Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) on Wednesday approved 10 road projects with a total cost of Rs 5,000 crore ($1,100 million).
The list of projects that have been approved and that subsequently can go to a request for proposal (RFP) step is the following:
- Project: Four Laning of Vijayawada-Machilipatnam Section of NH-9 from Km 0.000 to Km 63.800 (Approx. Length- 64.611 Km) in the State of Andhra Pradesh to be executed on DBFOT (Toll) Basis under NHDP Phase-III.
- Total Project cost: Rs. 606 ($133 million). See shortlisted bidders here.
- Project: Two-laning of the stretch between Bikaner and Suratgarh on NH 11 in Rajasthan.
- Total Project cost: Rs. 500 ($110 million)
- Project: Widening the Chittorgarh (Rajasthan)-Neemach (Madhya Pradesh) section under NH 79 and Nimbahera-Pratapgarh stretch on NH 113 in Rajasthan.
- Total Project cost: Rs. 511 ($112 million)
- Project: Four-laning of the Sidhi-Singrauli section on NH 75E in Madhya Pradesh
- Total Project cost: Rs. 871 ($191 million)
- Project: Two-laning of Ajmer to Nagaur section on NH 89 (Rajasthan).
- Total Project cost: Rs. 377 ($83 million)
- Project: Surat (Gujarat)-Sriganganagar (Rajasthan) section on NH 15
- Total Project cost: Rs. 224 ($49 million)
- Project: Four-laning of a stretch between Mangwan and the MP/UP border on NH 27
- Total Project cost: Rs. 381 ($84 million)
- Project: Satna-Bela section on NH 27 in Madhya Pradesh.
- Total Project cost: Rs. 320 ($70 million)
- Project: Four-laning the Zirakpur-Patiala section of NH 64 in Punjab
- Total Project cost: Rs. 421 ($93 million)
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways
has announced that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has taken several measures in order to cut down delays in land acquisition. These include:
- Strengthening of infrastructure provided to Competent Authority for Land Acquisitions (CALAs)
- Facilitating better coordination with the State Governments etc. by creating Regional/Zonal offices and persuading State Governments to set up high powered committees under Chief Secretaries for NHDP projects
- For some projects in a few States, Special Land Acquisition Units (SLAUs) have also been set up
- Progress of land acquisition is also being monitored through regular reviews
