Thai energy firm EGCO Group acquires Australian 113-MW wind farm

Electricity Generating Public Company (EGCO) Limited, Thailand's first Independent Power Producer, announced on 27 June 2013, its successful investment in the 113MW "Boco Rock Wind Farm" in the State of New South Wales, Australia, via the acquisition of a 100 percent equity interest in Asia Pacific Renewables Limited.

Asia Pacific Renewables was principally owned by Continental Wind Partners, the developer of the wind farm. The Transaction equity amount invested by EGCO Group is approximately A$110 million or 3.2 billion Baht.

Boco Rock Wind Farm is located approximately 160 km south of Australia's capital city of Canberra. Boco Rock Wind Farm project entered into a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement with EnergyAustralia Pty Ltd. with the expected Commercial Operation Date  in February 2015.

The investment is in line with Electricity Generating Public Company Limited Group's strategic plan to seek new investment opportunities in Thailand and overseas.
