Eidikos Diabathmidikos Syndesmos Nomoy Attikis in Greece has launched two tender notices seeking a private partner for the development of waste treatment plants located in Piraeus and Attica. Both projects will be procured under a public-private partnership (PPP) using design, financing, build, operation, maintenance, and transfer (DBFOMT) model.
Piraeus waste treatment plant will be located at a circular economy park in the city which will exploit and process recyclable materials, alternative fuels, compost. The plant will also be equipped with the capability to produce electricity and/or thermal energy from collected waste. The estimated value of the project is EUR300.7 million (USD363.87 million).
