Tender launched for two port terminal PPPs in South Africa

Transnet National Ports Authority, a division of Transnet SOC Ltd, which provides freight transport and logistics services in South Africa, has launched Request for Proposals (RFP) for facilities at the port of Durban and at the port of Saldanha.

Both contracts will comprise the design, development, financing, construction, operation  and maintenance of the port facilities.

The Durban project will involve the development of a cruise terminal on "A" and "B" berths, while the Saldanha project will comprise a terminal to provide generalist and specialist services to vessels, rigs and offshore platforms traversing and operating off the coast of Africa. The duration of the concession contracts are 25 and 20 years respectively.

The RFP shall close punctually at 15:00 (Local time) on, October 28, 2016 in the case of Durban port and at 15:00 (Local Time) on September 12, 2016 for Saldanha's tender.
