Tender launched for Taxiway PPP project in the USA

Houston Airport in Texas, USA has launched a request for proposal (RFP) seeking a private partner to provide design and build services for Taxiway L and Runway 4-22 Shoulders construction at Ellington Airport (EFD).

The aim of the project is to support the Houston Airport System’s Vision Statement to establish Houston as a five-star global air service gateway. This project will provide support for Houston Spaceport Phase One access to runways for Spaceport operations and aerospace manufacturing logistics. 

The selected consortium will perform services for this Project under a Four-Phase delivery method. The four phases consist of:                                               

  • Phase 1 – CGMP for Pre-Engineering/Design/Preconstruction/Enabling Work:  This phase will commence shortly after award of the Contract upon issuance of Phase 1 – Notice to Proceed (NTP) by the City
  • Phase 2 – CGMP for Phase 1 Construction of Portions of the Taxiway L for Runway 4-22 Access to Spaceport Tenants
  • Phase 3 – CGMP for Phase 2 Construction for Remaining Portion of Taxiway L
  • Phase 4 – CGMP for Remaining Construction Work and Connection to Runway 17-35

Phase 2,3 and 4  will commence only upon the City’s issuance of a construction NTP for that portion of the work and will be completed in accordance with the Scope of Work and durations identified in the NTP.
