Employee's State Insurance Corporation (ESI), an agency within the Indian Ministry of Labour and Employment, has launched a tender process to seek private partners for ​establish equipping, operate and manage Pathology labs at various ESI State dispensaries all over the country under Public Private Partnership.

The ESIC authorities expect from the private partner to modify the allocated space in the building of the ESI Dispensaries into a Pathology lab on PPP model.

In each State, the State Medical Commissioner of ESIC will allocate the ESI Dispensaries to the empanelled agency for establishing the Pathology lab within the Dispensaries. These dispensaries will give coverage to the other peripheral small dispensaries where the empanelled agency will establish sample collection centers. These samples will be processed in the main dispensaries having the established Lab.

The private partner shall establish well equipped Pathology lab Units with all required facilities, in the specified space and building to be provided by the ESI dispensary. The service provider will procure all equipments, material, qualified lab technician, required manpower, and provide lab services to the ESI beneficiaries. The service provider will have all responsibilities of procurement, operation and maintenance of all the equipments and other required medical and non medical items including all back-up services for the unit at his own cost.

Maximum time expected to complete and start the functioning of each Lab Units after allotment of dispensary is 3 months from the date of handing over the Space.
