Ministry of Public Works in Chile has relaunched the tender seeking a private partner for the Punilla reservoir concession. Earlier in October 2021, the authority had mutually ended the concession contract for the reservoir with Astaldi.
Under the new concession, the private partner will be responsible for developing a storage reservoir with a capacity of 565 million cubic meters located in the mountain sector of the Ñuble Region approximately 30 kilometers from San Fabián. The reservoir will also have a 137-meter-high dam with an ecological flow that ranges between 10 and 18 m3/s and the capacity to produce electricity.
The concession period for the project is 40 years. The estimated investment value of the project is US$369 million. The authority expects to choose a concessionaire by May 2022 and start project implementation in the first quarter of 2023.
The deadline to submit the proposal is March 17, 2022. For more information about this tender, visit our business opportunities page here.
