Infrastructure Ontario (IO) in Canada has launched a request for qualification (RFQ) seeking a private sector service provider for Real Property Services. The private partner will enable innovation and leverage technology to support the strategic management of IO's real estate portfolio. The current contract has been in place since 2009 and expires in 2024.
The portfolio involves more than 4,400 buildings consisting of office buildings and space and special purpose facilities such as courthouses, detentions centers, OPP detachments, fire management centers, and laboratories. IO also directly manages 194,000 acres of land, including hydro corridors and land banks. The chosen private sector partner will provide day-to-day property management, asset renewal works, capital planning, smart building technology, occupancy planning, energy and environmental management, strategic sourcing and vendor management as well as lease administration.
