Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has launched a Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) in respect of the implementation of the outfall pipeline for the Dammam West Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) project.
The selected partner will be responsible for the development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, implementation of the pipeline, as well as transferring it to the National Water Company (NWC) after construction, NWC will then assume responsibility for operation & maintenance.
The development of the outfall pipeline is required to convey unused Treated Sewage Effluent from the ISTP to the disposal location within the Arabian Gulf with a total approximate length of 29 km for the land and marine section. The pipeline needs to have a capacity to carry out up to 350,000 m3/day. SWPC procured the sewage treatment plant for a 25-year term, on a built-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis, through a competitive tender process, which has reached financial close.
The deadline to submit the responses is July 18, 2021. More information about this EOI can be found here.
