Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) in South Africa has launched a tender notice seeking a transaction adviser to conduct a Feasibility study, Procurement, and Handover process for the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link System Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) concession. The current concession includes operating, maintain, improve and expansion of the network.
GMA is seeking consultants who have experience in PPP projects as well as technical and operational knowledge of passenger rail services. The consultant should also possess expertise in legal, commercial, financial, economic and transformation aspects of an infrastructure project. The advisor will help GMA in the procurement process of the project.
The project aims to relieve traffic congestion on arterial routes between Johannesburg and Tshwane by providing a viable alternative public transport option to private car users. This was said to be achieved through reduced travelling time and improved mobility for passengers by offering a reliable, predictable, safe, secure and comfortable service. The project is also said to form a key component of an integrated transport solution for the province that complements (and not compete with) other modes of transport.
Maintenance period for the current concession contract will run until March 2026. The feasibility study will help the authority to continue concession beyond March 2026.
The deadline to submit the response is June 04, 2021. You can find more information about this tender notice on our business opportunity page here.
