The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) with the Ministry of Communications (MOC) has invited local and international companies/consortia to submit a Request for Qualification (RFQ) for the Fixed Telecommunications Network Development Project in Kuwait.
The project's objective is to establish a public-private partnership (PPP) for the development, financing, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer of an extensive high-speed fiber broadband network. Throughout the 50-year partnership agreement, the Project Company will have rights to utilize and exploit MOC's active (e.g., XPON, NGN) and passive infrastructure (e.g., ducts, central offices, dark fiber). Within five years of the PPP Agreement, the Project Company will enhance existing fiber networks and expand coverage to areas not currently served, aiming for 90% coverage of households and businesses. The PPP Agreement includes a maximum 5-year period for design, financing, and construction. The Project Company formed as a public joint stock company, will see the successful bidder holding shares ranging from 26% to 44%.

The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has announced the commercial close of the Um Al-Hayman Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
