Pakistan's Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) has launched a tender to deploy 600 MW solar PV capacity in Kot Addu and Muzaffargargh, Punjab province, Pakistan.
The chosen developers will be responsible for constructing and running the plants with a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) approach. By the end of 2022, Pakistan's installed photovoltaic (PV) capacity reached 1,234 MW. The country added 166 MW of solar capacity to its grid the previous year. In a recent development, NEPRA has issued 12 generation licenses, which cumulatively have a capacity of 211.42 MW. Among them, 9 licenses were granted to solar projects with a combined capacity of 44.74 MW.
