Australian Capital Territory government has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) notice seeking private partner for the development of grid-connected large-scale battery storage systems (LSBSS) in the state. The system will have a total capacity to store 250 MW of energy and will be connected to the state electricity grid. Each battery unit will be larger than 10MW.
The project aims to increase network reliability by reducing pressure and congestion on the grid and help integrate the new renewable energy capacity that will become available. ACT has committed AUD100 million (US$72.26 million) in government funding to support the project.
The deadline to submit the interest is February 11, 2022. For more information about this RFEOI, visit our business opportunities page here.
