Tender for rolling stock contract via PPP in South Africa

Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa(Prasa), via a Public Private Partnership, has launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Rolling Stock Fleet Renewal Programme in South Africa. It has identified a need to procure new Electrical Multiple Units (EMU) over a 20 year period, divided into two X10 year contracts.

A compulsory briefing session will be held on Wednesday, 9th May at 10am in Johannesburg, at a venue which will be detailed in the bid document.

Manufacturers of rolling stock in South Africa, and all over the world, have been inivited to submit their bids to win the right to build 7 224 metro coaches, estimated at R123 billion.
