Tender for Haldia Dock-II port project extended

The Kolkata Port Trust announced on 11 July 2013 that the dates for the Construction of Haldia Dock-II (South)  along with all required back up facilities on Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer (DBFOT) at Haldia Dock Complex for a concession period of Thirty (30) years have been extended.

The new dates follow:

  • The sale of RFP for (South): extended till 1600 hrs on August 07, 2013.
  • Submission of RFP for Haldia Dock-II (South): extended till 1300 hrs on August 13,  2013.
  • The opening of RFP for Haldia Dock-II (South): fixed at 1400 Hrs on August 13, 2013.

The Kolkata Port Trust  is a riverine port with two dock systems viz. Kolkata Dock System located in Kolkata and Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) located at Haldia. In order to obviate the problem of limitation of draft and to cater to the growing demands of the trade and industries in the hinterland of HDC, the Authority has decided to undertake Development of Haldia Dock-II (South) at Shalukkhali along with all required backup facilities Project through Public Private Partnership on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.

The Authority also intends to develop the Haldia Dock-II (North) at Shalukkhali through PPP on DBFOT basis and for which a separate bidding processing would be carried out.

The estimated investment for the project is Rs.886 crores (US$148 million).The initial RFP was launched in March 2013 and proposals were due on March 28.Source: Kolkata Port Trust & Kolkata Port Trust website
