Tender deadline extended for industrial waste management in Tunisia

The National Waste Management Agency (ANGed) has postponed the deadline for submitting applications for the rehabilitation, financing, operation, maintenance and renewal of regional infrastructure for special industrial waste management located in the governorates of Zaghouan, Sfax and Gabès in Tunisia.

The selected private partner's task include the Zaghouan Station and the two Reception Storage and Transfer Facilities (IRSTs) in Sfax and Gabès, bundled under a single Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Throughout the partnership, the private partner will be responsible for:

  • creating a detailed preliminary design for the hazardous waste treatment station in Jradou;
  • proposing sustainable solutions, and ensuring equivalent technical and economic standards as achieved for the Zaghouan Station;
  • updating the environmental impact study for the Zaghouan Station;
  • rehabilitating existing facilities, constructing new operational facilities;
  • procuring fixed and mobile equipment;
  • financing rehabilitation and new installations; and
  • operating and maintaining treatment units in Jradou, Sfax, and Gabès, as well as renewing equipment as necessary.
