Technical advisor sought for ACT Courts PPP transaction

Australia's Capital Territory (ACT) Government is seeking a technical advisor for the New ACT Court Facilities Project, which is to be delivered under a PPP Transaction.

Technical advisors must hold expertise in Courts and PPP documentation and evaluation and will be appointed under 5 key work streams, including: cost, technical (design), engineering, security and facilities management. 

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 15 May 2014.

The New Supreme Court Facility Project proposes to address these issues:

  • Redevelopment of the Supreme Court to provide a fully functional integrated courts facility;
  • Demolition of the Supreme Court building facade fronting Vernon Circle and provision of an annex wing that physically links the Magistrates Court and Supreme Court buildings and creates an integrated Courts facility;
  • Enclosure of the existing open area between the Magistrates Court building to create a courtyard space;
  • Provision of a secure linked custodial management facility to service both the Magistrates and Supreme Court buildings; and
  • Retention of the heritage envelope and key significant fabric of the Supreme Court building.

ATC has received AUS$1.8 million to fund the Integrated Project Team and external advisers who will oversee the procurement and delivery of the project.

Australia's Capital Territory (ACT) Government hosted on April 30th an open industry briefing to provide industry representatives with information regarding the New ACT Court Facilities ProjectMore than 100 people attended the industry briefing for the ACT's first public-private partnership. 

Expressions of interest will be sought from business this year and the new building is due to be operational by 2018.
