The University of Trinity Saint David, in Wales (UK) has launched the tender process seeking a partner for the development of the SA1 Swansea Waterfront project under PFI scheme.
The University of Trinity Saint David proposes to develop 23 acres at SA1 Swansea Waterfront forming part of the dockside regeneration area (SA1 Estate). The University is reserving 8 acres for a first phase academic development, which does not form part of this procurement. It proposes to develop the remaining land for residential / commercial use. The project may incorporate opportunities on the wider University estate.
The estimated cost of the project stands at certain £185 million (US$338 million).
The University’s immediate plans are to develop a “Box Village” comprising incubation, co-working and early stage business space alongside retail, leisure and event space, adjacent to the academic development. Thereafter it envisages developing an innovation precinct, alongside the academic development, to accommodate business wanting to co-locate alongside the University campus, car parking and student residential developments.
The deadline for interested bidders is on or before Sept 8, 2017.
