The SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II has recently acquired four wind and solar parks in France, Germany and Portugal.
SUSI Partners AG advised the fund during each of the four separate transactions. Only five months after the fund closing, 80% of the committed capital has been invested.
Specifically SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II had purchased a 53 Megawatt (MW) photovoltaic portfolio in France. The fund has now followed that initial investment with the following projects: 4.1 MWp Corse II solar, 50 MW Douro wind, 8.3 MW Noorderwind wind and 16.8 MW Lyria wind bringing the fund's portfolio to two solar and three wind parks, geographically diversified across France, Germany and Portugal.
At an aggregated capacity of around 140 MW, the total investment volume amounts to €50 million (US$56 million). These assets supply an estimated 70,000 households with electricity from renewable sources.
Otto von Troschke, Chief Investment Officer of SUSI Partners AG, stated:
"With the recent investments we have successfully realized our fund strategy that aims on high geographic diversification. For the first time, project Douro gave us the opportunity to get exposure to the Portugese market, one of the most interesting markets for wind energy in Europe."
The SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II expects its second closing, €150 million, at the end of July 2015. The total capacity of the fund is set at €300-500 million.
Dr. Tobias Reichmuth, CEO of SUSI Partners AG, commented:
"In the current low interest rate environment, investments in renewable energy infrastructure are an attractive investment proposition with stable distributions for institutional investors."
