SUEZ has announced an agreement for the acquisition of Perthwaste a waste management service providers in Western Australia, for A$87 million (US$65.8 million).
Founded in 2001, Perthwaste is very well established in the Perth metropolitan area and in south-west Western Australia, with numerous local authorities contracts. The company services a population of 760,000 people and industrials. Perthwaste boasts extensive infrastructure assets, including two waste transfer stations, two materials recycling facilities, three depots, a landfill, an organics composting facility and a fleet of 68 trucks.
The company employs 185 people and should generate a revenue above A$50 million in 2016 (US$37.8 million).
This acquisition will form a close fit with the waste collection, recycling and reuse solutions that SUEZ delivers to local authorities and industry in Western Australia, allowing the Group to strengthen its foothold on this promising market.
Marie-Ange Debon, Senior Executive Vice-President in charge of the International Division of SUEZ, declared:

This acquisition is subject to the approval of the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board and the Competition and Consumer Commission.
