Infrastructure Ontario and Grandview Kids, in partnership with the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services, have announced Substantial Completion of the New Grandview Kids, located in Ajax, Canada.
Substantial completion is the date when the facility is ready for use under the contractual requirements and marks the end of all major construction. Over the next several months, Grandview Kids will begin a transition period, which includes transitioning operations from other sites to this location. Doors open officially later in Fall 2024.
The New Grandview Kids headquarters will include center-wide therapy services, such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, therapeutic recreation, audiology, infant hearing, blind low vision, and social work. It will also offer autism services, a preschool outreach program, school-based rehabilitation services, developmental pediatrics, including specialized medical clinics, and family/caregiver resources and support. The building will be home to the Grandview School, as well as a branch of the Ajax Public Library branch. The facility consolidates its existing Oshawa headquarters and multiple satellite locations into the new purpose-built facility, located on 5.06 acres of land, which was generously donated by the Town of Ajax. The new facility will enable Grandview Kids to expand and enhance existing services and introduce new ones.
