STRABAG signed contract for the Railway line Modernization PPP project in Croatia

STRABAG has announced that it has signed a EUR228 million (US$229.44 million) contract for the Modernization of the railway line between Zagreb and Rijeka in Croatia.

The project involves the rehabilitation of 44 km of existing track, replacement of Level crossings along the line by over- and underpasses, construction of a new track and the modernization of several stations. The modernization of the railway line between Hrvatski Leskovac and Karlovac will improve the transport links between the port of Rijeka and the markets in Hungary, Slovakia and Poland in the long term.

Construction is due to start in October 2022 and is scheduled to last for 30 months.

    The Port of Sibenik Authority (PSA) in Croatia is implementing an infrastructure Rehabilitation Project of the Vrulje Quay in the port of Sibenik that will build four berths with a total length of 510 meters, of which two berths with total length of 325 meters. Berths are intended to host cruise ships and ships in the international and local passenger and ro-ro passenger maritime traffic. Investment is worth €12 million, and works are planned to finish in 2014. Read more
