Stafford Capital Partners has announced the first investment of its new infrastructure fund, Stafford Infrastructure Secondaries Fund II (SISF II). SISF II is a specialist infrastructure fund focusing on secondary opportunities in core infrastructure assets.
Following a recent first close at €94.5 million (US$106.5 million), SISF II has immediately invested €20 million (US$21.9 million) into a diversified portfolio of over 90 mature PPP-assets. Eight investors have come in alongside Stafford through Stafford Infrastructure Co-Investment I (SICI I), a new co-investment vehicle set up for this purpose. This investment is in line with Satfford's strategy to deploy capital swiftly into yielding core infrastructure assets.
The acquirers bought a GBP 100 million limited partner interest in BIIF LP, managed by 3i Group Plc.
BIIF is a £680 million (US$890 million) yield-based fund focusing on equity and subordinated debt investments in PPP projects and other infrastructure with a similar risk profile throughout Europe, including the UK.
BIIF LP is fully invested and has an initial management period of 15 years (from May 2009). As at 31 December 2014, it had a NAV of £558m (US$733 million)
