Sound Global wins water treatment plant concession in China

Sound Global Limited has announced it won the concession for the reconstruction and expansion works of the water treatment plant for Longci Water Source in Linfen City, China on June 12, 2014.

The total contract amount of the project is approximately RMB323 million (US$52.4 million). The concession contract is for a period of 15 years.

The construction of the related supporting facilities under the project located in Linfen City, Shanxi Province, include the new water intake head for 40,000 tonnes/day, two new DN700 waterlines; the expansion of the existing water treatment plant (Longci Water Treatment Plant) with the capacity of 80,000 tonnes/day; and the new water supply with the capacity of 20,000 tonnes/day.

The construction under the project solves the problems of the single source of water supply for Linfen City and the low capability of handling the accident of water pollution, so as to protect the safety and improve the water quality for the supply of potable water. The PPP joint venture includes works in different sections: water intake, water production and water supply.

According to Mr. Wen Yibo, Chairman of Sound Global:

This is the first investment project of Sound Global for upgrading and transforming the water supply in Shanxi Province. It sets the good demonstration for the launch of consequential projects in the region.

Sound Global will give full scope to its strongholds in terms of technology, funds, management and complete production chain, to provide the systematic solutions for the safety of potable water in the course of the economic development in Linfen City and peripheral areas, and provide powerful protection for the legacy of Linfen.
