Sound Global Ltd. has received the pre-award of the PPP project to develop 13 sewage treatment facilities in Fuan, Fujian Province, China.
The project is located in Fuan, Fujian Province, which comprises the rural township domestic sewage treatment facilities project and its ancillary pipe network in Muyang District (including three rural townships namely Muyang, Muyuan and Kang Cuo), Tan Tou, Shangbaishi, Xiabaishi, Shekou, Xiaoyang, Fankeng, Songluo, Xiwei, Xitan and Wanwu Towns (the old town section).
Initially, the short-term designed capacity of the proposed bundled project is 16,000 tonnes/day.
The short-term investment for the plant construction of 13 rural township domestic sewage treatment facilities is estimated to be approximately RMB60 million. The investment of drainage pipe network construction is approximately RMB160 million, totalling RMB220 million (US$35.7 million), with a concession term of 30 years.
Mr. Wen Yibo, chairman of Sound Global said that, with accelerating urbanisation, there is enormous market potential in rural township environmental governance. In this regard, the company has introduced the "Small & Skillful, Multiple & Modular, Active & Automatic, Rapid and Technologic" (SMART) process specially designed for the rural township areas in Fujian, which is a combination modular and integrated monitoring sewage treatment technology and commercial model featuring a centralised plant as the core plant.
