The Transport, Construction and Regional Development ministry of Slovakia is planning to build a section of the D4 highway set to form the Bratislava bypass, along with first two sections of the R7 expressway, as a public-private-partnership (PPP) project.
The lack of funds from the state budget and from the European make impossible to finance the construction of these roads without a PPP structure.
The ministry is now searching for an advisory team to structure the PPP project and prepare Feasibility studies.
The deadline for submissions of proposals is 15 May 2014th.
According to estimates, the total costs are likely to equal €1.3 billion - plus expenditures to cover the repossession of real estate and other project-related activities.
On October 23th, 2013, the Slovakian government approved the re-financing of the R1 Expressway project between Nitra and Banská Bystrica. The project was also built using the public-private partnership (PPP) model. A consortium of Vinci Concessions and Meridiam Infrastructure is the sponsor of the project.
