Six bidders for schools PPP in the Philippines

School in the PhilippinesSix consortia have been prequalified for the final round of the PPP for School Infrastructure Project (PSIP) in the Philippines:1. BF Corporation-Riverbanks Development Corporation Consortium2. Citicore Holdings Investment, Inc.-Megawide Construction Corporation Inc.3. D.M. Consunji Inc.4. Makati Development Corporation- Fist Balfour, Inc.5. D.M. Wenceslao & Associates Inc.-DATEM, Inc.6. Makati Development Corporation- DDT Konstract Inc.The first phase of the PSIP covers the design, construction and maintenance of 9,301 classrooms in 2,204 public schools within the next 10 years under a Build-Lease-and-Transfer contract. Three contract packages are being bidded out under this first phase of the PSIP.On April 30, 2012, the six qualified bidders will participate in a lottery to determine the school sites where they are expected to put up their prototype structures. The construction of a sample two-storey, two classroom-building is required under the PSIP technical bid evaluation process.The Ernst and Young Consortium is the adviser to the Government.
