International law firm Simmons & Simmons expands its Africa group and energy & infrastructure sector with the appointment of Paul Bugingo who will join the firm as a partner.
Paul joins the firm from Dentons, where he was a partner and former relationship chair of their Africa steering committee. He is a leading figure in the African projects, energy & infrastructure sector working with Governments, Utilities, Regulators and private companies across Africa, including in South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Lesotho and South Sudan.
This is another important step forward for the Simmons & Simmons Africa group, which has already been strengthened by the firm's recent alliance with Fasken Martineau earlier this year.
Paul is the fourteenth partner hire to the firm so far this year.
Patrick Wallace, partner and co-chair of the firm's Africa group, commented:
"we already have great experience working in all nations in Africa. Paul's experience as a leading project finance partner in the African and Middle Eastern markets will add immense value, not only to our existing E&I sector group, but as part of our wider strategy to develop opportunities and offerings for our clients."
