Siemens and Lend Lease reach financial close on the new Bendigo Hospital in Australia

The Victorian Government announced on April 5th that Exemplar Health, the consortium formed by Capella Capital, Lend Lease, Siemens and Spotless Services, has been selected as preferred bidder to deliver the new Bendigo Hospital under a Public Private Partnership contract.

Now, Siemens and Lend Lease have reached financial close for an AUD 630 million private public partnership financing for the 372 bed Bendigo Hospital

Siemens and Lend Lease are investing 50 % of the equity and Siemens is participating in the senior debt for the project.

The other team shortlisted for the Bendigo hospital in February 2012 in the final stage of the tender process was Intercare, comprising John Laing, Theiss, Royal Bank of Scotland and Theiss Services.

The new Bendigo Hospital will feature 372 in-patient beds, 10 operating theatres, an integrated cancer centre, a mental health unit and a helipad in addition to a mix of commercial developments. The works include a new hospital in addition to some minor refurbishment of heritage buildings.

Siemens and Lend Lease have also won  recently the Sunshine Coast University hospital PPP in Australia.
