SCT signs contracts for three port terminals

Mexico’s Secretariat of Transport and Communications (SCT) has signed contract for three 20-year terminals at the Port of Veracruz.

As we reported in September, 2016, the Integral Port Authority of Veracruz (APIVER), launched a Request for Information (RFI) for the development of the terminals at the Port of Veracruz in Mexico under PPP model.

The terminals are:

  • Bulk terminal PPP, awarded to Gramosa Agroalimentos, through SPV Puertos Especializados Transnacionales Petra
  • Ore terminal PPP, assigned to Grupo Logra, through the Opever SPV.
  • Fluid terminal PPP, awarded to Ienova, through SPV ESJ Renovable III. Ienova is a subsidiaty of Sempra Energy.

The SCT estimates that the three projects will require an estimated investment of MXN4billion (US$225 million)

According to sources, APIVER is planning to implement six terminal PPP projects valued at MXN80 billion (US$4.3 billion) to be developed between 2016 and 2027.
