Schroders establishes infrastructure finance capability with Charles Dupont

Schroders, a British multinational asset management company, founded in 1804, has established an infrastructure finance capability under the leadership of Charles Dupont.

Dupont, who joined the firm in August as head of infrastructure finance from Axa Real Estate Investment Managers, will be based in Paris, France.

He will be in charge of building on his strong existing relationships with institutional investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies.

Philippe Lespinard, Schroders' co-head of fixed income, said:

"We consider infrastructure finance to be an attractive asset class and one that is set for future growth. We believe it is currently benefitting from increasing demand from long-term institutional investors due to the increasing supply of projects, partly attributable to macroeconomic factors and changing regulations."

Before working for Axa REIM, Dupont was a founding partner at Antin Infrastructure Partners and served on the boards of various transport, energy and telecoms companies in Europe.

He holds a master's degree in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique and graduated from Ecole Nationale d'Administration in France.

Schroders employs over 3,700 people worldwide across 37 offices in 27 different countries around Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East.
