The Brazilian municipality of São José de Ribamar, in the Maranhão state, has signed a street lighting PPP project.
The awarded consortium São José de Ribamar Public Lighting Smart is formed by Citéluz Serviços de Iluminação Urbana S/A and F.M. Rodrigues & Cia Ltda.. It was the only bid received by the municipality.
The project, published in May 2015, was structured via Procedure for Expression of Interest (PMI).
The object of the concession is the modernization, optimization, expansion, operation and maintenanceof the infrastructure of public lighting in the municipality. The term of the contract is 15 years.
The value of the maximum monthly consideration will be BRL521,052 (US$160,925).
São José de Ribamar has an estimated population of 176,000 inhabitants. It is part of the São Luís Island together with São Luís, Raposa, and Paço do Lumiar.
As we reported in September, the Municipality of Mauá, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo (Brazil), awarded a PPP contract for the provision of street lighting to a consortium that also includes FM Rodrigues & Cia Ltda.
In February, we reported that a consortium formed by both companies, Citéluz Serviços de Iluminação Urbana S/A and F.M. Rodrigues & Cia Ltda., was developing a feasibility studies for street lighting PPP project in Cuiaba, the capital city of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso.
