Sacyr has signed the contract for a section of the Buga-Loboguerrero-Buenaventura highway public-private partnership (PPP) project in the region of Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
The section involves the development and modernization of the 128 km road to a divided highway with 118 km of a new lane. The project will reduce travel time and improve road safety, which will enhance transport links from the country’s inland to Buenaventura port.
The Buga-Loboguerrero-Buenaventura PPP project for the Colombian Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura (ANI) involves the operation and maintenance of 244 km of roads; adaptation works on the 155 km section; rehabilitation work on a 15 km section; landscaping work on a 33.7 km section; as well as the construction of an additional 35 km for a new second lane.
Sacyr will be investing EUR 800 million (US$801 million) in the project. The company will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for 27 years.
