The consortium 'Consorcio Salud Siglo XXI' formed by Sacyr Concesiones and SNC Lavalin signed the contract for the Antofagasta hospital concession in Chile on June 12th, 2013.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, MOP, the estimated investment for the project is US$250 million.
Consorcio Salud Siglo XXI was the lowest bidder and beat the competition from five other consortia:
The contract includes the construction and subsequent operation and maintenance of all nonclinical elements that support the hospital complex, including the provision, replacement and maintenance of medical equipment for 15 years.
The hospital will have a total area of 114,000 square meters and is fitted with 671 beds, 18 wards, 24 boxes and 45 emergency consultation. It is estimated that the center will serve 260,000 people.
