Sacyr and OHL bid for Colombian highway concession

The Colombian National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has received two proposals for the Magdalena River highway 2 concession, which belongs to  the 'Autopistas para la Prosperidad' highway project package.

The consortia that have bid for the project are the following:

The concession project includes the Remedios - Alto de Dolores - Puerto Berrío stretch. The new highway will have a total length of 144 km. The project involes the development of 2 tunnels with a total length of 310 m and 79 bridges, one of them in Puerto Berrío with 1,480 m length. The project also involves the development of the Puerto Berrio bypass.

The project is expected to be awarded on 16 October 2014.

The nine concessions of the Autopistas para la Prosperidad highway project have a total investments that will exceed 13 trillion pesos (US$7.1 billion) and will feature contributions from the national government through the ANI, the Government of Antioquia and the Government of Medellín.

As part of the 'Autopistas para la Prosperidad', ANI signed on 12 September Pacific Connection highway concession 1 and Pacific Connection highway concession 2. ANI also  awarded on 15 July 2014 the Pacific Connection highway concession 3.

ANI has also announced that it has received two proposals for the Connection North highway concession, which belongs to the 'Autopistas para la Prosperidad' package as well.
