Russia's RDIF and Pizzarotti agree to build toll bridges in Moscow

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the Government of Moscow region and company Pizzarotti IE, have agreed to invest in building toll bridges over railway crossings in Moscow Region.

The agreement was signed on 19 June by the CEOs of the companies and the Governor of Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, during the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The new overpasses will be built at existing level crossings. For the initial pilot project the parties are considering financing, design, construction and toll operation of four motorway overpasses. If the pilot project is successful, the Moscow Region Government, RDIF, and Pizzarotti will consider further collaborating on the construction of additional overpasses in Moscow region.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the RDIF, stated:

"We are pleased to be working with Pizzarotti, which has extensive experience in infrastructure construction projects, including roads, tunnels and bridges. The project will considerably improve transport infrastructure in Moscow Region. Our Italian partner's participation in the project is of particular significance as it demonstrates a long-term approach to investment collaboration in Russia."

Giorgio Cassina, International Affairs Managing Director of the Impresa Pizzarotti and C. S.p.A., commented:

"Pizzarotti is committed to enhancing significantly its presence in Russia through the implementation of a long-term investment strategy in the field of infrastructural projects. We are particularly glad to be provided with this specific opportunity by the Moscow Region together with such a strong and solid partner as RDIF"
