RFQs Released for Brockville General Hospital Redevelopment Project

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Brockville General Hospital have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) to build and finance the hospital's redevelopment project.

The project will consolidate programs and services offered on the Garden Street site to the Charles Street site. The project involves a combination of new construction and renovation, which will include:

  • an expanded Acute Mental Health and Addictions Program
  • increased inpatient beds in the Complex Continuing Care, Palliative Care, and Rehabilitation departments
  • relocation of support facilities

Pre-qualified teams will then be invited to respond to a request for proposals, which is expected to be issued in early 2016.

IO and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are working with Brockville General Hospital to redevelop the facility, which will be publicly owned, controlled and accountable.

Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care

"The redevelopment of Brockville General Hospital is another example of our government's commitment to provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Today's announcement is the first step towards providing Brockvillearea patients with new, state-of-the-art facilities to meet their present and future health care needs."

Tony Weeks, President and CEO, Brockville General Hospital

"This is a very exciting step for our hospital and community. The addition of a number of new beds, combined with a more efficient single-campus approach, will ensure a sustainable and viable community hospital. We are excited to look to the future where patients and staff will have modern amenities to best meet their needs."
