RFQ launched for Kampala waste PPP project in Uganda

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has launched a Pre-qualification call to participate in an international competitive tender to select private operators for the Kampala Waste Management PPP project.

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is seeking to engage the private sector in the management of solid waste within the city including the possible utilization of landfill gas in the production of energy and recycling/ composting to reduce amounts of landfilled waste through Public-Private Partnerships.

KCCA expects to sign the contract with the winning bidders by June 2014.

The Project will be divided into:

  • A concession for the provision of landfill construction, operation and management services,
  • several separate concessions for the provision of solid waste management collection services.

IPC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the Project's Lead Advisor to KCCA.

Interested providers are requested to deliver their written prequalification proposals not later than 2.00pm (Uganda time) on Monday 23rd December 2013.
