Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing has published a contract notice for the GBP 800 million (USD 1.04 billion) Clapham Park Phase 2 Estate Regeneration Project in south London.
Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is the trading name of Metropolitan Housing Trust Ltd (MHT) and Thames Valley Housing Association (TVHA). MHT is seeking to appoint a partner to form a corporate joint venture vehicle (50:50 basis) to secure investment and expertise to deliver the Clapham Park Phase 2 estate regeneration project under the competitive procedure with negotiation. It is envisaged that Metropolitan Living Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of MHT) will enter into the JV agreement with the selected joint venture partner for the establishment of the joint venture entity.
The appointed partner will be expected to provide investment and expertise to the corporate joint venture entity to deliver the project, involving the development of up to 16 sites across the Clapham Park Estate, providing approximately 2 388 new homes, non-residential, public realm and infrastructure as further set out in the planning permission, project brief and procurement documentation.
The Clapham Park estate regeneration project is strategically located between three local centres, Clapham, Brixton and Streatham Hill, the regeneration will create a vibrant, inclusive series of neighbourhoods with safe, secure streets, ample public and private green space and new community facilities, while also positively maintaining Clapham Park's unique character. The regeneration will offer a variety of housing tenures and typologies to help meet London and Lambeth’s housing requirements, with the proposal facilitating the needs of residents of all ages to create a vibrant, inclusive community.
The building program will last 15 years and is expected to end in 2035.
