RFP solicited for Gwinnett County Airport PPP deal The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive bids from airport management and development firms or consortia for a Public-Private Partnership for the Lease, Operation and Improvement of Gwinnett County Airport-Briscoe Fieldfor the Department of Transportation.
A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on January 5, 2012 at the Gwinnett County airport (Briscoe Field, 600 Briscoe Blvd., Lawrenceville, GA 30046).
Download the Request for Proposals (RFP).The County has received approval of  its  Preliminary Application under the FAA's Airport Privatization Pilot Program. Respondents to this RFP are encouraged to consult the County's Preliminary Application.In August 16, 2010, Gwinnett County already received three responses to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from American Airports Corporation, Gwinnett Airport, LLC, and Propeller Airports Briscoe Field, Inc in a try to privatize the airport but Commissioners voted to reject all three SOQ (statement of qualifications) responses. Infrastructure Management Group (IMG) has been assiting the Board with preparing and evaluating the RFP and to maintain contact with the FAA.The deadline for proposal submissions is February 8, 2012, with review and scoring completion anticipated later in the first quarter of 2012.About Gwinnett County AirportGwinnett County Airport at Briscoe Field is a municipal airport located about two miles (3 km) northeast of Lawrenceville, Georgia, in the United States. It is owned and operated by the Gwinnett county, in the northeastern part of metro Atlanta.It has a 6,000-foot (1,800 m) runway, and is 1,061 feet (323 m) above mean sea level. Student training is conducted at the airport by several different flight schools. Two FBOs, Landmark (north ramp) and Aircraft Specialists (south ramp), serve the field with facilities, passenger lounges, and fuel. ImagineAir, an air taxi company, is based at the airport and is currently the airport's largest air carrier by passenger volume. Airport Minimum Standards for Operation were rewritten in 2006.- Facebook
