RFP issued for major transit project in Canada
Four shortlisted teams have been invited to respond to a request for proposals (RFP) to deliver the Union Station Enhancement Project. Union Station is the major transit hub in the City of Toronto. Infrastructure upgrades, such as the construction of a new platform and the development of a new concourse area below the platform will further help to accommodate increased capacity as part of the planned expansion of GO Transit rail service. The estimated project cost is CAD 200-499 million (USD 150-374 million).
Teams were selected based on criteria in the request for qualifications (RFQ) phase, including their team composition, experience in collaborative project delivery, health and safety, and past project examples.

Constructor: Dragados
Design: Parson and Hatch
Teams will now begin the RFP process where they will be evaluated on their approach, collaborative behaviours and final fees. The team with the highest score will be selected to enter into an Alliance Development Agreement with Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to submit a proposal to deliver the Union Station Enhancement Project. This will include collaborating in the design, finalizing the Target Outturn Cost and identifying and managing project risks.
A successful bidder is expected to be announced in summer 2020.

MOU for USD 1.2bn hydro-fibre project in Canada
The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the proposed Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link to Nunavut from Manitoba. Financial close on CAD 967m bridge PPP project in Canada
Aecon Group announced earlier this week that Fraser Crossing Partners has reached financial close on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project in British Columbia. The total contract is valued at CAD 967.5 million (US$ 727.58 million).
