The Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority (PPP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications, has invited qualified companies and consortiums to submit their requests for proposals (RFP) to develop Kuwait’s fixed telecommunications network.
This initiative aims to significantly improve the nation's telecom infrastructure. The PPP Authority has announced the pre-qualified participants for the project: Bahrain Telecommunications, E& International Holding Limited, TAMM - S.P.A., and Brookfield Corporation. These companies were selected based on their expertise and experience in handling large-scale telecommunications projects. The partnership contract will be formalized between the Ministry of Communications and the project company to oversee the execution.
The agreement will cover a total period of 50 years, encompassing both the construction and operational management of the necessary sites for the network's development. The primary objective is to establish a high-speed telecommunications network with an initial capacity of 10 gigabits per second. Additionally, the project aims to expand Kuwait’s fiber optic network to cover at least 90% of homes, ensuring the country meets modern industry standards and significantly improves connectivity for its residents.
