RFP for shortlisted teams in Canadian LRT PPP project
The City of Calgary has shortlisted three teams in the tender for Green Line Segment 1 (Ramsay/Inglewood to Shepard) LRT project and released a request for proposals (RFP) for them.
This RFP phase in the procurement process involves a rigorous competitive process to select a team that can effectively carry out design, building, and financing of the project. Each successful proponent is asked to submit a proposal for review. At the end of this process, typically 12 months, the Segment 1 contract will be awarded to the most competitive bid.
The Green Line LRT Stage 1 is a city-shaping project that will improve mobility in north and southeast Calgary, that connects people and places, and will enhance the quality of life for all Calgarians. Stage 1 which extends from 16 Avenue N. to Shepard (126 Avenue S.E.) is a Design-Build-Finance (DBF) model, and will be constructed in 3 different segments:
- Segment 1: Inglewood Ramsay to Shepard (126 Avenue S.E)
- Segment 2a: 2 Street S.W. to 4 Street S.W.
- Segment 2b: 16 Ave N. to 2 Street S.W.
Construction on Segment 1 is expected to begin in late 2021.

MoU signed for 130 km passenger rail PPP in Canada
The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) and Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Transportation (Alberta Transportation) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to complete studies and due diligence for the Calgary-Banff Rail project. The project would support Alberta’s economy by creating a critical airport-rail link to downtown Calgary and Banff National Park, increasing tourism opportunities and labour mobility, and reducing vehicle greenhouse gas emissions and congestion in the travel corridor.

RFP for advisory services for $1.9bn LRT project in Canada
The City of Edmonton has launched a request for proposal (RFP) to provide LRT Operations and Maintenance Advisory Services for the Valley Line West Light Rail Transit (LRT). The advisory will assist the City during the procurement, design, construction, and commissioning of the project and for the overall infrastructure including systems and light rail vehicles.

Half a billion road PPP project awarded in Canada
The Government of Nova Scotia has awarded Dexter Nova Alliance consortium the CAD 717.9 million (USD 511.8 million) contract to design, build, finance, operate and maintain Highway 104 PPP project in Nova Scotia. The consortium consists of Dexter Construction, Nova Construction, and BBGI as an equity partner.
