The City of Calgary has shortlisted three teams in the tender for Green Line Segment 1 (Ramsay/Inglewood to Shepard) LRT project and released a request for proposals (RFP) for them.
This RFP phase in the procurement process involves a rigorous competitive process to select a team that can effectively carry out design, building, and financing of the project. Each successful proponent is asked to submit a proposal for review. At the end of this process, typically 12 months, the Segment 1 contract will be awarded to the most competitive bid.
The Green Line LRT Stage 1 is a city-shaping project that will improve mobility in north and southeast Calgary, that connects people and places, and will enhance the quality of life for all Calgarians. Stage 1 which extends from 16 Avenue N. to Shepard (126 Avenue S.E.) is a Design-Build-Finance (DBF) model, and will be constructed in 3 different segments:
Construction on Segment 1 is expected to begin in late 2021.
