The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board has approved the detailed specifications and updated parameters, terms, and conditions (PTCs) for the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Cancer Center Project.
The project involves the establishment of a new 300-bed cancer hospital within UP-PGH’s Metro Manila campus. Out of these beds, 150 will be reserved for sponsored patients, targeting underprivileged individuals, while the remaining 150 beds will be allocated for private self-paying patients in a dedicated wing. Operating under a 30-year Build-Transfer-Operate (BTO) concession model, the project entails the selected private partner designing, financing, constructing, and commissioning the hospital. Furthermore, they will be responsible for procuring, maintaining, and periodically replacing medical and non-medical equipment. Additionally, the private partner will oversee non-clinical services such as facility maintenance, management, cleaning, laundry, and catering, as well as commercial activities including parking, food and beverage services, and retail outlets.
