Request for Qualifications Issued for new Science Centre Facility in Canada

Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Infrastructure have issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for teams to design, build, finance, and maintain the new Ontario Science Centre (OSC) facility located at Ontario Place, Canada.

The iconic Cinesphere and Pod complex will be preserved, modernized, and seamlessly incorporated into the new facility. Relocating the OSC to Ontario Place promises to deliver engaging, science-focused educational programming at the heart of the site, igniting curiosity and fostering innovation among a new generation of visitors. This initiative aims to inspire young minds to explore potential careers in science, aligning with Ontario Place's original vision as a hub for learning and innovation. Furthermore, the new modern facility will prioritize sustainability, adhering to targets for energy use intensity (EUI), operational and embodied greenhouse gas intensity (GHGI), thermal energy demand intensity (TEDI), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification throughout its design and construction process.

The RFQ submission deadline is July 04, 2024. Additional details regarding this tender can be accessed through our Business Opportunity page here.
