Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is embarking on the Ultimate Urban Circulator Program (U2C) by issuing the Request for Information (RFI).
The purpose of the RFI is to obtain input from industry partners regarding program implementation for all components of the U2C Program including civil works, vehicles, supervisory system, operations and maintenance and security and cybersecurity. JTA is also seeking input regarding procurement considerations, including procurement strategy, form of contract, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) interest, and opportunities for public private partnerships.
Information from the responses may be used to better define the path forward including the scope of work, technical requirements, and procurement strategy for inclusion in an RFP to be issued by the JTA.
The deadline for Questions is on January 23, 2020. More information on this opportunity RFI can be found here.
The Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) is a multi-phased program aimed at converting and expanding the automated people mover (Skyway) in Jacksonville into an autonomous vehicle (AV) network. By transforming the current Skyway, extending the reach within the urban core through the Bay Street Innovation Corridor and expanding beyond into adjacent neighborhoods, U2C supports the vision of a vibrant, revitalized and better-connected Downtown Jacksonville.
