The Queensland Government has launched two tender processes seeking a private partner for the development of social housing projects.
The Department of Housing and Public Works is seeking proposals for an innovative housing and support solution, for young people aged 16 - 25 years old at the Gold Coast and in Townsville, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and who commit to engage in education or training.
The education and employment outcomes will enhance independence and capacity to live fulfilling, productive lives and minimize the threat of permanent homelessness. The Youth Foyer model is internationally recognized for providing secure and affordable housing while delivering social and economic benefits for young people and the community.
The department is interested in proposals with a Youth Foyer approach, and in other similar proposals, which will deliver innovative housing pathways for vulnerable young people.
